ThanksGiving 09 - Part 1

When Thanksgiving finally came around this year, i was swamp with school work until the second before i have to leave for airport. Thank god the trip was not ruined and everything eventually worked out.

So heres a short summary of day 1.

Arrived at Denver at 715am and slept for the next 45 minutes until some wierd lady sat down next to me and crept me out. So i went to Hertz to take care of our rental car. Damn was i surprised at how long were the lines at Hertz that early in the morning. After an hour, i got the Mazda 6 we reserved but was offered a great deal on an Escalade. Two hours later when the others arrived we head back to Hertz and finally got the Escalde. It was a brand new suv with only 3 miles on it. SWEET.

Once we arrived at Keystone we spare no time and got ready for the slopes. The condition was not as great and only few selected runs were opened. It wasnt as bad as i thought getting started again. After the first few turns, the muscle memory kicked in and it felt great to be riding again.

After our 3rd run, we had Mexican food at the Parrots Eye. Xiao was too tired to go back on the slopes so she stayed in the car while the rest of us head back up for one last run before WM fell asleep.

Drove for an hour to our hotel at West Vail and realized the only place open is the 7-11 next door. Checked-in to our rooms and WM crashed the second he hits the bed. The rest of us head to the hot tub before taking a shower. By then we were so hungry we drove to vail village to look for food. Unfortunately, everything was closed by 10pm and we end up getting instant noodle cups from the 7-11 next door.

All in all, this was a pretty good day with the most riding done. I promise day two will be much more entertaining.
